Padampa Sangye’s Bell

was used on retreat with CR Lama

it was purchased in old Delhi

in one of the shops in the Red Fort bazaar

during the mid 1990’s when there were

still a few original Tibetan statues and

ritual objects remaining that could be

purchased. It seems no one wanted

it because it is cracked and

makes a clunking sound as well as

looking very worn

Whilst practising CR Lama quickly

picked up on the clunking sound

although there were many people in the

room ringing bells. Having located

the clunking sound he asked to see the bell.

After holding it for a while he conveyed

it is Padampa Sangye’s bell.
